Responsive or "Regular" Grants

The Foundation does not respond to random, general requests for funding. We administer two regular grant cycles annually, beginning in the spring and the fall. There are two steps in the responsive application process and the second step, submission of a formal proposal, is contingent upon successful completion of the first step, submission of a concept paper.

Prior to preparing a proposal, you must identify your organization's JRF Applicant Type and corresponding profile, based on the criteria provided in the guidelines. After your specific profile has been determined, please adhere to the corresponding application instructions.

JRF recommends that you read your specific grant application guidelines completely through to the end prior to beginning the application process.

ATTENTION: Please note that for 2010 only, "all applicants" (former JRF grantees, current JRF grantees and new applicants) will be considered as "First Time applicants" and must identify with "JRF Applicant Profile A." Again, this applies to the spring and fall grant cycles of 2010 only.

"JRF Applicant ProfIle B" will not become effective until the spring 2011 grant cycle and is subject to change in the interim. Consequently, this web page will be revised during the winter of 2010-2011 to announce its implementation.
