Scholarship FAQ

The Foundation manages several scholarship programs. Please click here for information about our scholarship offerings.

No, applicants need only complete one application.

Students pursuing any level of post-secondary education. This includes, but is not limited to, 4-year colleges, 2-year colleges, trade school, nursing school, medical school or certificate programs.

The following documents must be submitted online:

  • Academic transcripts – high school or college, whichever applies. If you are a dual enrollment student, please upload both your high school and college transcripts.
  • Two current letters of recommendation.
  • Copy of FAFSA Submission Summary showing your Student Aid Index (SAI) number
  • Other documents as requested by individual scholarship funds

No, applications and all required documents/attachments must be submitted online.

Our scholarship application opens on November 15 and will close on February 15.  If February 15th is on a Saturday/Sunday or a holiday, the deadline would be the next business day by midnight.

Following the application deadline, the Foundation will begin the review process. Applicants who were selected to receive a scholarship will be notified by mid-May. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted.

Volunteer scholarship selection committees review all applications and select recipients based on availability of funds and the competitiveness of the applicant pool. Competition for scholarships is strong and meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee funding.

  • John Randolph Foundation will send you an email with a data form. Complete this data form listing the campus address, student ID and phone number or contact information and return it to us as soon as possible.
  • Please reply promptly to requests for information.
  • Notify the Foundation of a change in address, change of major, or if you transfer schools within two weeks of the change.
  • Contact the Foundation immediately if you stop attending school.

The scholarship can be used for any educational expenses: tuition and fees, books and supplies, meal plans, and on-campus room and board.

Scholarship checks are sent directly to your school’s financial aid office. If your scholarship check has not been issued to your school on your behalf, please contact the Foundation as we may be missing documentation needed to process payment. Refunds of unused scholarship funds are returned to the Foundation.

Some of our scholarships are renewable. If you received a renewable scholarship, you will receive an email with a Renewal Form in which you must complete and return to us with a copy of your most recent transcript. Your transcripts will verify your enrollment and that you have met all requirements relevant to your scholarship. Renewal Forms submitted without all requested materials will not be processed.
