Background
The Lidge and Nancy Johnson Scholarship Endowment was established in 2023 in honor of Lidge O. Jenkins and Nancy Carroll Johnson. This scholarship celebrates the enduring legacy of a couple who, following retirement from distinguished military service, made Prince George County their cherished home. The couple’s unwavering commitment to education is reflected in the collective achievement of their three children and 10 grandchildren. All 10 grandchildren proudly graduated from Prince George High School and pursued continuing education. Fond memories of countless Friday nights spent cheering at football games, cross country and track meets, basketball games, field hockey, theatrical performances, dance and musical recitals, swim meets, and volleyball games underscore the couple’s passionate support for extracurricular activities. Their profound impact extends beyond the stands, as they diligently served the community through various county committees and boards, community fundraisers, and served with their local church. The scholarship fund stands as a testament to their enduring dedication to education and community enrichment.
